Christmas Catch Up

I have been terrible at blogging this holiday season! We have most defiantly been keeping busy, while preparing for Christmas. On the 11th, we had our annual donut night, and this year Ann was the wonderful host :) About halfway into the baking, we all started feeling sick from eating too much...but we carried on!

The next night brought on our 23rd annual cookie night with the other Searle's! We had SIX batches of cookies to frost this year, and as always, we had a blast!

This year, we started a new little tradition. Every person who wants to, frosts one cookie, and then they all get judged, and a winner is declared. The tree in the middle of the second row was the winner :)

Makayla frosted her very first cookie this year! It was a proud mama moment!
(She probably ate 6 cookies, and a 1/2 cup or so of frosting before the night was over!)

Christmas Countdown

This is what I made my Mom for Christmas :) I had fun making it, and getting her all the little presents to go inside each day. Some of the days just have a slip of paper in them, sending her to Taylor for her gift, because some of them were too big for the little pockets.

Sneak Peak...Family Pictures

Excited....

For Christmas that is :) I know it's WAY early, but I just can't help it! Doug was home over the weekend, and had to decided if he wanted Thanksgiving or Christmas off. He's decided that he would rather spend Christmas home with me and the kids.
{For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, here's the side story: Doug and I are dating, and very much in love :) He has two kids, Jackson who's 6, and Jojo who just turned 2. He's a truck driver, and is only home 3 or 4 days out of the month. It's hard, but we make it work}
So that also means he won't have days off in November...60 days and counting until I get to see him again :( But we decided to start Christmas shopping, with Walmart layaway, and got most everything done! It's been so fun shopping for three kids instead of just Makayla, and not having to pay for it all at once. We've got until December 16th to have everything paid off and picked up. LOVE IT!

Prepared?

A few weeks ago, I got a little pamphlet in the mail, and it was all about being prepared in case of an emergency. It went through things like what to do in case of fire, earthquake, flood, ect. It talked about making a plan with your family, and actually practicing that plan, so that everyone knows what to do, and where to go in such an emergency. And in the back, it had a checklist for a 72 hour kit. At my mom's, I know I have a backpack that has a kit, but hasn't been updated probably since I was 12....Now that I'm on my own AND I have a toddler, I've started making my own kit, to keep in the car. I dont have much extra space in my apartment, and if there ever is an emergency, I wont have time to grab the kit, because I'll be busy grabbing Makayla.

While doing some research, I came across this blog http://preparedldsfamily.blogspot.com, and it's helped so much! No one really wants to think about having to actually be in an emergency and use their kits...but it's so much more scary to think about being stuck with no kit...especially with kids!

Don't Be Afraid of the Dark

My boyfriend took me to see this last night..and while the trailer makes it look like it would actually be scary, it wasn't. It had a good story line, but that is about it.

Foster The People - Pumped Up Kicks

This is my new FAVORITE song! Love love love it!

8.18.2011

OUCH..

Just took my car in to get fixed...I got two new tires, both back windows fixed, (until now they were being held up by teal duct tape!) a new belt thingy, some sensor thing fixed, brakes fixed, and oil change and a state inspection. $1415.54 later, my car is fixed! I went to pick it up, and at last minute had them do the state inspection so I can go get my car registered. (Which was really due at the end of July.. whoops!) And after 2 days of no car, and $1400 later, it wasn't going to pass inspection! Why? BECAUSE MY BLINKERS AREN'T WORKING! Uggggh kill me! But he was nice enough to pass me anyways..because my blinkers do work..85% of the time. I hated not having a car. I'm super glad I've got it back...but not so glad about the $1400...ouch!

This nn That

I have had NO ambition to blog lately..I don't know why, so I'm just going to do a small little catch up of what's been going on since Stadium of Fire. July was a pretty quiet month, the only exciting parts were Brad Paisley and our yearly trip to Bear Lake! When Bear Lake time rolled around, I was in the middle of moving to a new apartment, that I will actually be able to afford on my own. Work is going good, although it is super hot..I never thought I would ever wish for the cold...but I am! Makayla is doing good, she is starting to talk more! [FINALLY] but is still always sick. At Bear Lake she was running a fever of 103. Turns out she had a sinus infections, and had to get a shot on her little bum! And, one of her tubes has fallen out..so we have an appointment with her ENT today to make sure the hole is closing correctly.

And...I've been dating a new boy :) He's amazing and I quite like him!

Wanting....and Waiting....

Life in Logan sucks. I love having my family close, but overall, I'm not happy. Which is why I'll be moving to Cedar City in a few weeks! I did just get settled into my new house, which is RIGHT behind work, but due to recent happenings, I can't afford it on my own. Cedar is going to be perfect for me. Before I moved to Layton, I was going to move to Cedar. But it didn't happen...And it is now! Sydni is there, so I don't have to find a new apartment, and we'll be splitting rent and utilities. It will be about half of what I'm paying now for my house. I'm getting transferred for work, so I don't have the stress of no job again. I hope everything works out, so I can get the heck outta Logan....and FAST!! :)

Friday The 13th....My Baby is 18 Months Old!!

She is so cute. And she knows it. She still isn't quite talking yet, but she is really smart (and I'm not just saying that because I'm her mommy...Ellen (her daycare provider) agree's with me!), and understands everything we say to her. She will say Momma, Dada, uh oh, and bye bye. She's even said Tay Tay once :) I couldn't ask for a more perfect daughter!! AHH! I love her!

Catch Up

Okay. So the blogging challenge hasn't been going like I really wanted it to. I don't have access to a computer, and now that I'm working, I just don't have time. So I'm just gunna be done with it.

We FINALLY got a house!! It's right behind Smith's Marketplace, so I will be able to walk to work! :)  I'll be moving all my stuff from Layton on Saturday, when I have to be out of that stupid place. The timing couldn't be better. Makayla has been sick. ALOT. We went the the ER last week, twice in one day. She had been throwing up, and it was freaking me out. We did find out that she has a nasty ear infection tho, and was put on an antibiotic for it. Well yesterday, she threw up again, because she was coughing so hard. Later that night, she wouldn't sleep, and kept coughing and crying. So at 1 am, I took her back to the ER. This visit was "short" [compared to the last time we were there...], we were home by 3:30. Makayla has bronchitis and pneumonia. ON TOP OF her ear infection. KILL ME. Why the freak isn't she EVER healthy??? It's so frustrating and annoying. Not because I'm up all night, but because she is up all night coughing so hard she pukes. She is too little to have to be in the hospital all the time. It's not fair.

the Dentist... {day 4}

I went to the dentist Tuesday...I haven't been in over 2 years...due to no insurance, and no money...at the end of my 2 hour appointment, the dentist {Dr. Gordon} proceeded to tell me I have "at least 3 root canals, a couple crowns, and a bunch of fillings"....which is going to cost me $2506....OUCH...

4.09.2011

Cooking {day 3}

I love to cook. I believe that it is something every girl should learn growing up, so that when they go to college, or get married, they don't have to be learning to cook on top of everything else in their busy life. One of my FAVORITE recipes is for a cordon bleu pasta. And it's EASY!

2 jars Alfredo Sauce
1 box Penne Pasta
Chicken {rotisserie chicken works best, and is easiest, no cooking involved!}
1 container mushrooms
Green onions
Ham {i use a package of small, pre-cubed ham}
Bacon {I like the pre-cooked kind}
Mozzarella Cheese {about 2 cups}

Cook Pasta until it's halfway done. {it will finish cooking in the oven}
Saute mushrooms and green onions. When done, add ham, bacon {cut into small pieces} and chicken {pull apart, into bite-sized pieces}. Drain noodles, and put into 9x13 pan. Add one jar of alfredo sauce. Add everything else, and use the second jar of sauce on top. Cover with Cheese, and bake at 350 for 30 minutes.

Blogging Blues {day 2}

Okay, I know I'm really behind on the blogging challenge. But I don't have a computer, or the time anymore. I've started work, and the past few weeks, I've worked most days. I love my job, but when I get home I just want to spend time with Makayla and Mikey.

For the past 2 1/2 days, it has been snowing like it's December. It's down right depressing. We went from 60 degrees, to snow. When it first started, we all thought that it would be just a short, go-away-soon kinda thing. Oh no. It stuck. Blah. Snow after warm weather sucks.

April Showers Bring May Flowers? {Day 1}

Side note: Before I start my first post for the A-Z Blogging Challenge, I've got bummer news. Mikey took my computer away [Fine. It's really his computer, but I used it the most!], and got himself a stupid PS3. So I am still doing the challenge, but I wont be able to post everyday like I was hoping too. I'll post at least once a week, and catch up all the days I missed.

As most everyone knows, I HATE winter. By March I just get depressed when it snows. I do not like being cold, or wet. It's April 1st, and 60 degrees out. I hope it's done snowing. I L-O-V-E Spring, and the warmth that comes with it. I love being able to take Makayla to the park to play, or over to the zoo to see the animals. This summer I hope to keep her outside as much as possible. One of my bucket list items is to plant flowers. But I can't do it until the snow stops!

Idiot, Party of One

This past week has been crazy. Mikey and I, along with our friends Coby and Krystina, have been looking for a house. Monday we found the cutest four bedroom house, but the next morning when I went to turn in our application, someone had already signed the lease :( We found another house, and I fell IN LOVE with it. We looked at it with the Realtor, at five Wednesday night. We told her we wanted it, and she said to bring in the application form the next morning. So the next morning, I call to see if the application fee had to be in a money order or if I could pay in cash. {This was at like 9 am} The lady said that the property we looked at wasn't available anymore. I told her we had just looked at it last night, and were told we could get going on the application. The lady proceeded to tell me that the lease was signed last night at five. As we were there looking at it. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?? No one could have picked up the phone to call and tell the Realtor that a lease had been signed? Ugh. I was told that if for some reason it didn't work out, they would call me and let me know. So today, during work, I got a call. The property was available, and I was first in line to get my application in. I couldn't get in until about 3:30 {this was at 2}. At 3:30, I was two seconds away, and called to figure out where there office was. The Realtor proceeded to tell me that they had just singed the lease 20 minutes ago. AGAIN, ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME??!?!?!? Someone had come in wanting it right away, and so they ran their credit and let them sign the lease. I was told it was a "first come, first serve" basis. Except for the freaking fact that they told me I was first in line for it. People are idiots.

I Love You!

"There's a feeling that i get, when we are a part. It starts out rather small, then spreads throughout my heart. Every time your gone, a part of me is too, it's like a normal reflex and there's nothing i can do. Your my other half, you make my heart complete, and when you say "i love you" it sweeps me off my feet. You are the finish of my smile, the shining in my eyes, you know my strenghts and weaknesses, you understand my cries. You help me out with everything, you listen to my dreams, and when there's not a word to say, your shoulders where i lean. I know I'll never be alone, not with you by my side. When i need you the most, i know your arms are open wide. How'd i get so lucky, you really just don't see, how special it is to love someone, and know they love you back. i want to let you know, there's no doubt we'll make it through, in my world you are everything and i will always love you!!"

Happiness!

I FINALLY got a job! I'll be working at Smith's Marketplace starting next week! This couldn't have come at a better time..because as much as I love my mom...I HATE living at her house. Nothing is child proof, and Makayla gets into EVERYTHING. I'm house hunting today so I can hopefully be out of my mom's by the end of the week!

2.28.2011

Catching Up

As February comes to an end, I don't have much to report. Makayla and I have been living in Hyrum with Mikey, and things have been going great. I am still on the hunt for a job, but I have more hope here than I did in Layton. Makayla is FINALLY not sick anymore. After her surgery, she was fighting a fever, and the Dr put her on antibiotics. Then she got an awful yeast rash. NOTHING I did would make it go away. I thought about taking a picture, but it's way to sad to show. It was scarlet red, bumpy, and made the inside of her girlie part red, so she screamed every time she went potty. We finally got her into the Dr, who gave her a prescription cream. The rash is finally gone, and hopefully for the first time in her life, {well basically} she will be 100% healthy!!

I'm finally 20. I'm a mommy to the most beautiful daughter, and I love her daddy more than ever. We're the family we always should have been and I'm happy.

2.16.2011

Happy Valentines Day?

My Valentines Day started out great. Mikey got home from work at about 8, [He work's grave, from 11 pm to 7 am] and Makayla was just waking up. We got ready and left so he could sleep. I got out to my car, and in my front seat, was a giant teddy bear, some candles and a dozen roses. And on Makayla's car seat, was a little monkey. She loves that little monkey. Late that night, Mikey took me to dinner at Chili's, while Makayla was home with Brandi. We got home, put her to bed, and went to bed ourselves. At about 1, she started screaming. Nothing would get her settled down. At about 2:30, I had reached my screaming limit. I took her on a drive, for about an hour. We got back home and I got her into bed, and she slept for about a half hour. We got her up around 4, and she laid between us on the bed, and we thought for sure she would sleep. But no. She got up, and just wanted to play. So she played until about 7, when I finally got her to sleep. I thought she would sleep about 5 or 6 hours. Oh no. She was up at 9:30, wanting to play. So we played until 1:30, and she went down for a nap at slept until 4.

I have never had such a long night before. It was awful. I could not figure out what was wrong with her, and it was making everything worse. But she seems to be okay now, and slept so good last night. She only woke up once, and was back asleep in a few minutes.

It wasn't the perfect ending to my night, but that's okay. It's all apart of being a mommy.

2.10.2011

Back in Logan

I've decided that being in Logan is what's best for Makayla and I. I'm here half the time anyways, and once my lease is up, I'd be back anyways. I'm on the hunt for a job, story of my life. But this time, there are a few places that I would LOVE to work, that are actually hiring. Kohl's, Ross, TJ Maxx and Chuck-A-Rama all are. So fingers crossed that one of these places will want to hire me. My first pick job would be Kohl's. Hands down, it had become my favorite store.

Makayla is still not feeling super great. We had an EXTREMELY long night last night...she woke up around 1, and would not go back to sleep. So, she came in bed with me. Which is so bitter sweet. I love when she will sleep with me. The only problem is that she hogs the bed, and my stomach got kicked all night, and now it's hurting again. But, her fever is gone, and her cough isn't as bad as it has been these past few days. So hopefully she will sleep good tonight, so I can sleep as well.

widdlytinks.com

I love little things like this, I think they are just the cutest. If I had money, I would get one for my car...Maybe I'll just have to make Mikey get me one :)

Take 2

This morning at about 7, Makayla was running a fever of 103. We took her back to the ER, where they proceeded to basically traumatize her. They wanted to check to see if she had a UTI. So to get a urine sample, they had to put a catheter on her...She screamed, I cried. Then, they wanted to check her for RSV. Again, she screamed, I cried. Both were negative. Um HELLO?? She was JUST here TWO NIGHTS AGO having surgery. Why not start with a freaking X Ray to make sure she doesn't have a second airsoft pellet they didn't catch the first time, or test her for things that are relevant to her condition. Idiots. My Mom and I were not amused. They finally did a chest X Raye, and there were no signs of a second pellet. The Doctor put her on antibiotics for Pneumonia. She doesn't have it, but that would obviously be a worst case scenario, and they want to make sure it doesn't develop into it.

My poor baby girl. She is almost 15 months, and has already had 8 ear infections, 10 stitches, and 2 surgeries. She is on a twice a day for 10 days medication right now, and has had SO MANY of those. She is always on some kind of medicine, whether its just Tylenol, or antibiotics. It makes me sick to my already-sick stomach knowing that she has had some kind of pain going on, basically her whole life. She is such a trooper, and is always happy and wanting to play, regardless of what is going on. I love her more than anything and she has been such an example to me. If she can deal with everything she has, then I will be okay as well.

Tummy Ache...x1000

Tummy Ache...Part 1

Tuesday, Makayla and I went back to Layton for a few days. I wasn't feeling too good, but it was nothing serious. Wednesday night I went to bed at about 10:30, and had the worst stomach pains. EVER. My whole stomach was killing me, and I could not sleep. Every time I sat up or stood up, I would get nauseous and throw up. I tried taking a bath to see if that would help, and it didn't. The pain was so bad, I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get up with Makayla. I called my mom at 5:30 to tell her about my awful night, and she offered to come to Layton to help get me to Logan, so I could see a Doctor. But I needed my car in Logan as well, so she brought Matt with her, so he could dive my car home. Makayla woke up at about 9:15, just as my Mom was leaving Logan. I got her out of bed, and laid on her floor for an hour, until my Mom came. We got to Logan at about 1:45, and picked Taylor up from school so she could watch Makayla while my Mom took me to InstaCare. We got to InstaCare at about 2:15. I was running a fever of 103.5, and seriously felt like I was going to die. The pain wasn't as bad as it had been Wed. night, but it was still horrible. One hour later, the Doctor FINALLY came in. They had taken a urine sample, and something was in it that is an indication of Appendicitis. He then proceeded to press on my stomach, and it about killed me/made me want to punch him in the face. He sent us to the ER, so i could get an IV in, and get a CT scan. Doug came after the CT scan to give me a blessing, and shortly after that, Ann came to bring my Mom dinner. It was about 7 when I went into surgery. I remember being wheeled down the halls, but nothing after that. When I woke up (it was about the only sleep I had gotten in 20 hours), I asked the nurse what time it was, and it was 8:30. By 9:15, I was in my room for the night. I was fully awake by the time we reached my room. Taylor was in there, and I asked where Makayla was. Taylor responded with, Oh she's with mom and Tanner. I don't think much about it, until about 15 minutes later, when they hadn't come back. So I asked her where they were again. She goes, don't freak out, Makayla is fine.....but mom is downstairs in the ER with her....

Choked...Part 2

While I was at the Hospital with my Mom, Taylor and Tanner were home with Makayla and Matt was at work. Makayla was munching on some puffs, and starts choking. Taylor digs around in her mouth to see if anything is down there. She doesn't get anything out, and Makayla is still choking. Tanner called our Bishop (who lives right next door), who came right over. They tried calling Dr. Stevens, who lives in our ward. He didn't answer, but they went to his house to see if he was home. He was, and said that they should go the ER right away. So the Bishop takes them to the hospital. On their way over, He called my Mom to tell her what had happened, and that they would be at the ER shortly. Now my mom had been waiting for me to get out of surgery, but had to go downstairs to take care of Makayla. So she sent Taylor up to be there when I was brought in. She was a little hesitant at first, because if I saw Taylor, I would ask about Makayla. And Taylor was like, Nah, she'll be too out of it to even know whats going on. But, I was awake when I got to my room. Mikey came to see me at about 9:30, and he got there right before Makayla's surgeon came into talk to me about what was going on with her, and what needed to happen. Mikey had to sign the realise forms, because I had just woken up from being sedated. Mikey and Taylor went down with the Dr, so he could see her before he went to work. When the Doctor came back to talk to us after her surgery, he had the airsoft BB that had been lodged in part of her lung. Mikey was able to see her after the surgery, when she was out of recovery. We were both in Pediatrics, so it was nice that Mikey and my Mom could be back and forth without too much distance to go.

Together Again...Part 3

Mikey went to work at about 10:45, right after Makayla was brought out of recovery, and into her room. I FINALLY got to see her at about 1 am, when I was able to get unhooked from everything, so I could use the bathroom. I went into her room, and she reached for me, and it about made me cry...to see her hooked up to all the machines, and having an IV...it was awful...But she was okay, and she was going to be fine. My mom finally got her to sleep, and I felt okay going to sleep, knowing she was in good hands [literally!]. Mikey came to check on us at his 3:30 "lunch" break, and Makayla was up getting her temperature taken, so he was able to see her again. I went back to bed around 4, and was up for the day at 7. My Mom brought Makayla into see me, and we just sat and talked until about 7:15 when Mikey came back [he gets off work at 7]. My mom left, to go to her school and set up a sub for the day, and to run home to change. Makayla was so tired that she fell asleep on my bed, and that was one of the cutest things ever. She was holding my finger, and wouldn't let go. At about 9, her nurse came in to let me know that Makayla had been discharged, and was okay to head home whenever, but they were okay to help me with her if needed, since my mom still wasn't back. Shortly after that, my surgeon came in to check on me, and he said I was doing great, and could go home as well. We left the hospital at about 10:30, and I'm so glad I didn't have to be there much longer. Being hooked up to all the machines and my IV was super annoying, and I hated not being able to take care of Makayla. I do not feel like I've had surgery. My stomach only hurts if I cough, and other than that I am fine. I think its because I've had a baby, and no pain will ever compare to that. Plus, the stomach pain I had Wednesday night, was 10x worse than what my stomach felt like after surgery.

A Song For Everything

So Small [Carrie Underwood]

What you got if you ain't got love?
The kind that you just wanna give away
It's okay to open up
Go ahead and let the light shine through
I know it's hard on a rainy day
You wanna shut the world out
And just be left alone
But don't run out on your faith

'Cause sometimes that mountain you've been climbing
Is just a grain of sand
And what you've been out there searching for forever
Is in your hands

And when you figure out
Love is all that matters after all
It sure makes everything else
Seem so small

It's so easy to get lost inside
A problem that seems so big at the time
It's like a river that's so wide
It swallows you whole

While you're sitting around thinking 'bout what you can't change
And worrying about all the wrong things
Time's flying by, moving so fast
You better make it count 'cause you can't get it back

Sometimes that mountain you've been climbing
Is just a grain of sand
And what you've been out there searching for forever
Is in your hands

Oh, and when you figure out
Love is all that matters after all
It sure makes everything else
Seem so small!

Sometimes that mountain you've been climbing
Is just a grain of sand
And what you've been out there searching for forever
Is in your hands

And then you figure out
Love is all that matters after all
It sure makes everything else
Oh, it sure makes everything else
Seem so small

It Happens [Sugarland]

Missed my alarm clock ringing
Woke up, telephone screaming
Boss man singing his same old song

Rolled in late about an hour
No cup of coffee, no shower
Walk of shame with two different shoes on

Now it is poor me, why me, oh me
Boring the same old worn out blah, blah story
There is no good explanation for it at all

Ain't no rhyme or reason
No complicated meaning
Ain't no need to over think it
Let go laughing

Life don't go quite like you planned it
We try so hard to understand it
Irrefutable, indisputable
The fact is psssh it happens

My trusty rusty had a flat
I borrowed my neighbor's Cadillac
I'll be right back
Going down to Wally World

That yellow light turned red too quickly
Knew that truck the moment it hit me
Out stepped my ex and his new girl
'Sorry 'bout your neck baby'

But it is poor me, why me, oh me
Boring the same old worn out blah, blah story
There is no good explanation for it at all

Ain't no rhyme or reason
No complicated meaning
Ain't no need to over think it
Let go laughing

Life don't go quite like you planned it
We try so hard to understand it
Irrefutable, indisputable
Fact is it happens

Ain't no rhyme or reason
No complicated meaning
Ain't no need to over think it
Let go laughing

Life don't go quite like you planned it
We try so hard to understand it
Irrefutable, indisputable
Fact is

Yeah, the irrefutable, indisputable
Absoluteable, totally beautiful
Fact is psssh it happens

These two songs fit my life to a T. So Small is what I'm dealing with right now. But It Happens, reminds me that there are just some things that I can't control, and to enjoy life, regardless of whats going on. A few months before Makayla was born, I was driving home from Mikey's, after a bad fight...And the song "I Saw God Today" by George Strait came on. I had never heard this song before, and I (of course...) burst into tears when I heard the last verse/chorus

"I've been to church
I've read the book
I know he's here
But I don't look
Near as often as I should
Yeah, I know I should
His fingerprints are everywhere
I just slowed down to stop and stare
Opened my eyes and man I swear
I saw God today

Got my face pressed up against the nursery glass
She's sleepin' like a rock
My name on her wrist
Wearin' tiny pink socks
She's got my nose, she's got her mama's eyes
My brand new baby girl
She's a miracle
I saw God today"

Mikey is funny when it comes to songs. He has a few songs of his own for me and Makayla. Our song has always been Then by Brad Paisley. Every time we hear the song, Mikey will hold my hand and sing along with the last part of the song.

"And now you're my whole life
now you're my whole world
I just can't believe the way I feel about you, girl
Like a river meets the sea,
stronger than it's ever been.
We've come so far since that day
And I thought I loved you then

I could just see you, with a baby on the way
And I could just see you, when your hair is turning gray
What I can't see is how I'm ever gonna love you more
But I've said that before

And now you're my whole life
now you're my whole world
I just can't believe the way I feel about you, girl
We'll look back someday, at this moment that we're in
And I'll look at you and say
And I thought I loved you then
And I thought I loved you then"

When it comes to Makayla he is just like any other father. He's got two songs for her:

My Little Girl [Tim Mcgraw]

"I remember I thought you looked like an angel
Wrapped in pink, so soft and warm
You've had me wrapped around your finger
Since the day you were born

You beautiful baby from the outside in
Chase your dreams but always know the road
That'll lead you home again
Go on, take on this whole world
But to me you know you'll always be, my little girl"

And:

Cleaning This Gun [Rodney Atkins]

The Declaration of Independence
Think I could tell you that first sentence
But then I’m lost

I can't begin to count the theories
I've had pounded in my head
That I forgot

I don't remember all that Spanish
Or the Gettysburg address
But there is one speech from high school
I'll never forget

Come on in boy sit on down
And tell me about yourself
So you like my daughter do you now?
Yeah we think she's something else
She's her daddy's girl
Her momma's world
She deserves respect
That’s what she'll get
Ain’t it son?
Hey y'all run along and have some fun
I'll see you when you get back
Bet I’ll be up all night
Still cleanin' this gun

Well now that I’m a father
I’m scared to death one day my daughter
Is gonna find
That teenage boy I used to be
That seems to have just one thing on his mind

She’s growin' up so fast
It won't be long before
I’ll have to put the fear of god into
Some kid at the door

Come on in boy sit on down
And tell me about yourself
So you like my daughter do you now?
Yeah we think she's something else
She's her daddy's girl
Her momma's world
She deserves respect
That’s what she'll get
Now ain't it son?
Y’all go out and have some fun
I'll see you when you get back
Probably be up all night
Still cleanin' this gun

Now it's all for show
Ain’t nobody gonna get hurt
It’s just a daddy thing
And hey, believe me, man it works

Come on in boy sit on down
And tell me about yourself
So you like my daughter do you now?
Yeah we think she's something else
She's her daddy's girl
Her momma's world
She deserves respect
That’s what she'll get
Now ain't it son?
Y’all run along and have a little fun
I'll see you when you get back
Probably be up all night
Still cleanin' this gun

Son, now y'all buckle up and have her back by te- let's say about nine...thirty.
Drive safe.

Music is inspiring. Its influential. And it's a big part of my life, and has really helped me through hard times, and also brought fun, laughter and memories into the good times.

January

Why is it that January is always such a blah month? Maybe it's because nothing exciting happens? January has always been such a weird month for me. Most people see it as a new beginning, a fresh start. But the truth and reality of everything is that it's not. Nothing changes just because the year does. Bills don't disappear, rent is still due and jobs don't magically appear. I always wondered why it has been like this for me. I finally figured it out. Something is always happening during the year except for January. February is Valentines Day and a week later, my birthday. March is St. Patricks Day, and a hope of Springs arrival. April is Easter and Spring Break. May is the end of school [[well it was the end]], and the start of summer vacation. June is a blissful month of no worries, warm sun, friends and family. July is my FAVORITE (well 2nd favorite) month of the year. This month has the 4th of July [[My FAVORITE HOLIDAY]] and the 24th, which means a fun-filled week at Bear Lake, which is spent out in the sun, with a good book and Diet Coke. August brings [[well used to]] the start of fall and school. September is a full month of fall. beautiful leaves changing color, as the anticipations of winter gets closer and closer. October bring Halloween. This holiday is truly special. For the whole month, houses are decorated in hopes of scaring little ones, talk of costumes and parties is all the conversations kids have. All for ONE night. And it's not even one night. It's only a few hours, but still an epic holiday. November has become my favorite month of the year. Makayla's birthday is the 13th. That is something that will be celebrated more than any holiday. A few short weeks after the birthday celebrations, brings Thanksgiving. A time for food, family and fun. December is of course, Christmas. The celebration of our Saviors birth. For [most] kids its about presents and getting out of school. Its about seeing lots of family, and eating lots of food. Regardless of how you view the Christmas Season, it is still a celebrated holiday, and a large one at that. Then you get to January. AND NOTHING. Sure, New Years Day is January 1st. But no one celebrates. Everyone will have already celebrated the night before, December 31st, New Years Eve.

January is a depressing month for me. It always has been, and I'm sure it always will be. Unless I get married in Janury. Which wont happen because I don't want a winter wedding. I'm a summer girl. :)

2011

December has come and gone, and I have yet to post about Christmas. That's because I only got a few pictures, and haven't felt much like blogging. But I will say that I am proud of myself. I actually kept my blog going this year, and now have a good record of Makayla's first year of life. Christmas was perfect. Makayla was spoiled, and had a blast opening presents. New Years eve was spent at Ann and Trace's, and I left a little early to get to Mikey's, and we rang in the new year together. Makayla got her stitches out today, and her foot has healed great. [[She FINALLY got a bath..after 8 days..]] We are headed home to Layton, where I am hoping to find a job, so I can start my 2011 of right. I didn't set goals for this new year, because I am HORRIBLE at things like that. I'm just keeping it simple. I need a job, and want to be able to support myself and my daughter. I honestly hope 2011 is better than 2010..cause if its not, I'll be screwed!
