It's 3:13 am and I'm too exhausted to put a title...

So yesterday I went to pick up Makayla from Mikeys mom. They had been watching her so i could enjoy Wicked with my mom and other family members. I had been at Instacare, for my back. I call her around 4:30, and she informs me that Makayla was bitten by their damn cat. She makes it sound like no big deal, and that Makayla is fine. However, when I picked her up, her hand was the size of a tomato. And red as one as well. We went over to my moms, where she tells me to go to instacare. So we pack up and go. Instacare had an hour and a half wait time, and the nurse there said that I should probably be taking.g her to the ER anyways, as cat bites are nasty, and need immediate attention. The ER got us in right away, and the nurse came in to talk to us, and informed me that Makayla would be getting xrays, to make sure no pieces of the damn cats teeth had broken off into her hand. He then went on to tell me she would need an IV, to have blood drawn, so they could run tests. Ok, fine. We get all this going, and I had been talking to my mom, who said that Sophia was at the ER with her son, who had taken a major fall during a 50 mile bike ride. (Boys are INSANE..) so I texted her, and they happened to be right next door! Sophia's hubby Doug was able to give Makayla a blessing, and I believe with all my heart that it has already helped immensely. Then the doctor came in. And informed me that Makayla was going to be admitted. For two or three days. (Help.me.rhonda.) AND, if the IV drip of antibiotics doesn't work, the suregon will have to sedate her, and cut open her bites, and drain the infection.

So far, Makayla has been amazing thru all of this. She let them poke her arm to put the IV tube in, she stayed still while they drew blood, she cooperated while they got xrays, and has actually let the IV alone, and not tried to pull ot out. We got to the ER at 5:30 Saturday night. Finally around 9:15, they took us upstairs to our room. My mom stayed until about 10:30. After crying for almost a half hour, Makayla fell asleep. My poor baby girl just wanted to go home and sleep in mommy's bed...made my heart ache..its now 3 am, and I can't sleep. I'm so worried, and my mind just wont calm down, and the tears wont stop coming..I pray to my God that everything will work out, and that she will be ok..because I know I wont be if things don't get better ...

Oh, and if your wondering where Mikey is during all of this- I called him when we got to the ER. Makayla was unfortunately wanting him. I asked if he would come up, for his daughter. He asked if he had to. If he was needed. Wasn't it something I could just do? ......I said a few choice words and hung up. I've been sending him updates, and sending pictures. Still no reply. What a piece of sh*t right???

Inspiration

Through out my life, I have had many  inspirational people touch my life, in ways that they might not even realize. Of course my Mother has always been my number one inspiration. I always thought growing up, that I would do things so much differently. Have I? No. My kitchen is organized like hers, and I do alot of my clenaing like she does. I call her about 50 times a day, for fun, just to talk, to tell a funny Makayla story, or to ask a parenting question. I have a parenting book, for toddlers. But why read that, when I have a whole family of experienced mothers? I'm always asking her how I should do things, or what she thinks. Mother does know best!

Growing up, I also had Sophia and Doug for inspiration.

We have always joked that she is my best friend, and that her daughter Liza is my Moms best friend. But really and truly, she is one of my best friends. I named my daughter after her, and even married a  man named Doug ;) Sophia has had many trials dealt to her, and with each one, she always comes out on top, and benefits from each experience. This woman, and her husband, are going straight to heaven- I'd bet my life on it. Sophia and Doug have adopted their three oldest grand kids, and those three kids are the most kind spirited, gentle, well mannered, and loving kids I have ever had the pleasure of having in my life. I have been through many hard times these past few years, and Sophia has been there thru it all. I even called her and Doug in the middle of the night once a few years ago, needing the comforts of a blessing, and advice. There has never been any question as to whether or not I can call them if needs be. I know I can, and they would do anything in their power to make sure I was okay and had what I needed.

Most of my favorite memories have Sophi and her family in them. Countless family dinners, cards, games, movies, trips to Bear Lake and The Ranch, Diet Cokes, Tai Pan...and even memories I can't remember. I was the first baby she loved, other than her own children. No joke on that one. The bologna chunk Utah story, trips to Vegas, the time they came to visit when they were living in Indiana, and of course, everything being 38%. There are hours upon hours of home videos to capture the happiness that two families have created over the years.

Sophia was my wedding planner, and without her and my Mom, my wedding day wouldn't have been everything I had wanted it to be. She always has the best ideas, and like my mom, always knows what to do. She isn't afraid to speak her mind, ask questions others wont, or tell you things you might not want to hear. You know she is going to speak truths when she starts a sentence with.."Madi, you know I love you right? And you know I would do anything for you?" That sentence is ALWAYS followed by a harsh truth. But I love her for telling it like it is, and saying things I really need to hear.

Right now, Sophia has major heartache and drama going on in her life. Her youngest granddaughter Zaylee, has been moved across the country. Reading her blog lately has just made my heart break! I wish I could handle life's hard times like Sophia does. Her life doesn't come to a stop when things aren't going good. She continues on, and does the best that she can do, with the cards God has given her. She understands that everything happens for a reason, and that it is not our place to question why. She inspires every aspect of my life. I want my daughter to grow up to be life her Aunt Taylor, and Sophia's girls, Gracie and ZJ. I want to be an amazing homemaker like she is, and have the ability to make my house a home, where everyone feels welcome and relaxed. Over the years, she has become a best friend. Someone who has always been here for me, and loved me regardless. She inspires me, and I will be forever thankful for everything she has done for me and Makayla.

On Mothers Day, we were at the park grilling hamburgers, and having the most wonderful day. Sophia told me that she was proud of me, and the mother I'd become. Hearing that from her, made my Mothers Day so much sweeter. I'd been having a hard time with Makayla, and her tantrums, and not feeling like too good of a mom. So having her tell me that, was just what I needed to hear, and until now, I don't think she knew it.
I love you Sophia. Forever, and Always.

The Weekend

Last weekend, Doug came home for a doctors appointment. His back has been hurting him, to the point that he can barley get in and out of his truck. The x-rays showed that his lower disks in his back are badly messed up. Luckily, the solution to fixing all of this, is physical therapy. Which means that he is also out of work. So until June 14th, I have my husband home! I LOVE having him home, but financially, it is going to be very hard and stressful.

Yesterday, we attempted to go camping with all the kids. We set up camp around noon, and they played SO good all day long. My mom, Taylor and Tanner joined us for tinfoil dinners and smores, and after they left, we just enjoyed the most beautiful evening I've seen in a long time. Bedtime, however, was a whole different story. We got the kids to bed around 9, and Doug and I were able to enjoy a few hours of sitting around the fire, basking in the quietness :) That is, until midnight, when Makayla woke up. She had peed thru three layers of Jammie's, and was crying about being cold. So we packed up the kids and came home. (We were just up at the Brigham City Campsite) I realized that all our pillows and most our blankets were still at the campground. Doug went back to get them for me, and we went on with our night. Today, we headed back up, to clean up camp and let the kids play some more. The fun ended very quickly tho, when Jojo fell into the fire pit. It wasn't much of a fire, just coals. She ended up with just a few tiny blisters on the bottom of her foot. As we were driving home, Doug's mom called me, looking for him. She was wanting to make sure we were okay, because the fire department has gotten a call last night around 2:30, of a BEAR IN OUR CAMPSITE!! So glad that we had gone home!! When Doug had gone back to get the pillows, he had heard something in the bushes...and hearing the bear report, he is pretty sure that is what it was! Scary! But regardless, I do love camping and cant wait to do it again!

Yikes.

Holy cripes am I terrible at blogging! A few days into my New Years resolution, I realized it wouldn't happen. Mostly because I don't have a computer of my own yet, and I've been VERY busy with being a mommy, a new wife, working, and just life in general. I've changed my resolutions, and so far, its been good. A ton of stuff has gone on since January, so it's going to be a long catch up post.

February 21st- I {FINALLY} turned 21! I sadly, don't have any pictures...and quite frankly, I can't really remember what we did to celebrate..Its no fun when your birthday is on a Tuesday! My husband wasn't home, so I just hungout with my family. I'm pretty sure we went to lunch and a movie..Gads I've got my mothers memory!

In the beginning of March, Doug and I made the move to Brigham, to make a new home, just in time to be a new family! We are at Canyon Cove Apartments, and I LOVE IT there! We got super lucky, and got a bottom level apartment, that just so happens to be handicap accessible. Which we don't need, but its wayyy nice because the halls, doors, and kitchen are all kicked out a few feet. Our apartment is roughly 1400 sq. feet, a three bedroom, two bath, and came with a brand new washer and dryer! Have I mentioned how much I love it?? :)  While we are all unpacked and settled, I haven't really had time to decorate and hang the 20 things I want on the walls..so pictures will come soon!

March 16 2012-  is the day I married my best friend! It was a whirl-wind of a day, and it couldn't have been more prefect!!

For our honeymoon, we went to Wendover for the weekend, and it was a blast! We stopped at Maddox for dinner on our way out of town, which is always yummy!!

We stayed at the Montego Bay, and my wonderful husband surprised me with a  mini-suite!

Life has since slowed down since March, but is always an adventure with a toddler! Makayla is (usually) so fun to play with after work, and I'm so blessed to have her, and be able to spend good quality time with her. She got her first hair cut a few weeks ago, and I think it makes her look so much older! This isn't the best picture, but its better that the others one I have! (She has a mouth full of sucker-the only way we could get her to hold still!)

April 26th was Doug's 28th Birthday! He was actually home, but only for a short, short time.

Mikey had Makayla, So Doug and I had the afternoon all to ourselves! We went to Maddox for lunch, and later went to see Titanic. I hate not having him home more, but his crazy (sucky) schedule wont be like this forever, and eventually I will get to have him home on a more regular basis. Can't wait!
