Excited....
For Christmas that is :) I know it's WAY early, but I just can't help it! Doug was home over the weekend, and had to decided if he wanted Thanksgiving or Christmas off. He's decided that he would rather spend Christmas home with me and the kids.
{For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, here's the side story: Doug and I are dating, and very much in love :) He has two kids, Jackson who's 6, and Jojo who just turned 2. He's a truck driver, and is only home 3 or 4 days out of the month. It's hard, but we make it work}
So that also means he won't have days off in November...60 days and counting until I get to see him again :( But we decided to start Christmas shopping, with Walmart layaway, and got most everything done! It's been so fun shopping for three kids instead of just Makayla, and not having to pay for it all at once. We've got until December 16th to have everything paid off and picked up. LOVE IT!

Prepared?
A few weeks ago, I got a little pamphlet in the mail, and it was all about being prepared in case of an emergency. It went through things like what to do in case of fire, earthquake, flood, ect. It talked about making a plan with your family, and actually practicing that plan, so that everyone knows what to do, and where to go in such an emergency. And in the back, it had a checklist for a 72 hour kit. At my mom's, I know I have a backpack that has a kit, but hasn't been updated probably since I was 12....Now that I'm on my own AND I have a toddler, I've started making my own kit, to keep in the car. I dont have much extra space in my apartment, and if there ever is an emergency, I wont have time to grab the kit, because I'll be busy grabbing Makayla.
While doing some research, I came across this blog http://preparedldsfamily.blogspot.com, and it's helped so much! No one really wants to think about having to actually be in an emergency and use their kits...but it's so much more scary to think about being stuck with no kit...especially with kids!
